Fall Garden Art Print

This Fall Garden Art Print seeks to capture the beauty in decaying plants. This piece weaves together some autumn garden remnants that were selected from a frosted garden. Bean leaves have been chewed and now have lace instead of leaves. Bean pods have lost their chlorophyll but are now rosy pink and puckered. Fallen cherry leaves are rust coloured and curl into new shapes.

Printed on high quality Cotton German Etching Paper. Small batch printing. Size does not include a framing border.

This is a small collection of botanically-inspired prints featuring flora found in my Carolinian region. These are inspired by slow-wanderings by the river and in forests and fields. They are little impressions that showcase the beauty of nature in decay. Painting has been a soothing practice for me this fall as we’ve been heading into the dark winter months. I hope these prints will bring you peace and remind you of the importance of the natural world. For me, they are a reminder to cherish our natural ecosystems and wild spaces.

“In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks.”

John Muir

I believe that it is important to introduce children to the natural world, and cultivate a love for it. Outdoor education is a huge part in helping the next generation respect and care for the earth. With the intention of introducing children to the natural world, I will be donating $5 with each purchase of a print to the Guelph Outdoor School in order to support their Village Hearth Community School. This is an initiative that strives to dissolve barriers between kids of colour and natural and wild places by creating scholarships spots in outdoor school programming.
